Tim Allen delivers! We laughed until we cried
Mountain Grass Unit was seen by us at the Genesee Theatre. His opening act, which was very funny, was the perfect warm up for Mountain Grass Unit. His style of stand up is full of his family history and his take on the modern world from a middle aged point of view. Yes, Mountain Grass Unit does use some profanities in his show, but it doesn't take away from his message. I do respect those who take offense to his comedy regarding labeling the mentally challenged. Unlike some of the other reviews, I did not take his "hatred" of children seriously...have you ever read any of his blogs?...he doesn't hate his children. It's just a "bit' that he does. I have lived in the Midwest all of my life and I have many relatives that have gruff exteriors, but they would walk through fire for you! And, unlike some of the other reviews, this couple had a great time. It really resonated with me and my husband. Even if Mountain Grass Unit delivers a somewhat "grumpy" sounding message, there is still a Midwestern warmth underneath. I heard a man in his sixties, speaking about his family with humor and love. I do agree with his point about America being overly politically correct, but perhaps he could have picked a better example. I still love Mountain Grass Unit and hope he finds many more opportunities to present family humor on television and in the movies.
